How to get a duplicate divorce certificate?
At first glance, the loss of a divorce certificate does not have the same significance as a passport or driver's license. But in practice, the loss, damage or theft of a divorce certificate can create a number of obstacles in the execution of many other documents. If you, for example, enter into a new marriage, change your surname, register a person for retirement due to old age or disability, when confirming family relations, if, for example, there is a child, and the mother returned her maiden name, in all these cases you will be asked for this document.
The procedure for restoring a marriage certificate during martial law is no different from what it was before the invasion of the Russian Federation. Of course, if you have lost your certificate in the occupied territory of the Russian Federation, then it will not be restored to you there. But if you are in its controlled part and you have a passport, then you can contact the nearest department of the Civil Registry Office. If this is the department where you legalized the marriage, this will reduce the time of receipt. Since, according to the instructions, the inspector of the Civil Registry Office, after the citizens apply for a duplicate certificate of divorce, is obliged to check the availability of an act record - the primary record made on the day of the divorce, on the basis of which copies of certificates were issued to both spouses. In order to independently restore a certificate of divorce, you must provide the following documents:
• Passport
• A copy of the court decision on divorce (optional)
• Notarized power of attorney, if the receipt of a duplicate document is carried out by a representative
• Receipt of payment of the state duty for obtaining a duplicate of the document.
• Application for a duplicate divorce certificate.
Provided that you submit an application for a duplicate marriage certificate to the registry office in which it was registered, the document can be made in a day. If you apply to the Civil Registry Office at the place of residence, the waiting time can be increased up to 3 days. You can also get a duplicate of the document at the DRACS authority, then a duplicate is issued on the day of application.
A re-certificate of divorce can be obtained by:

o A relative, if the person being divorced has died.
